Shell and Tube type Heat Exchanger is used for heat transfer cooling / chilling . It contains number of tubes enclosed in a close fitting cylindrical shell. These are very useful when a process requires large quantities of fluid / vapour to be heated or cooled as they provide large amount of heat transfer area and also provide high degree of heat transfer efficiency.
